JMO,
There is no need to cure Pukani for extended periods while waiting for dead organics to sluff off, etc. What I have done multiple times with Pukani: Pick of any organics you see, fill bucket with tap water and bleach. I used a 50/50 mix bleach to water. Put a powerhead and circulate for a day to two days. Empty bucket and rinse really well with hose from the back yard. Put rocks back into bucket and let them sit for a day with prime and powerhead. Overdose the prime by about two to three times recommended dose for water volume. Empty bucket again and fill with saltwater. Add yourself a good bacteria in a bottle (Biospira/Microbacter7, etc.) and run for a day or two. Let it run for a day or two and it should be good to add to tank. It may help your sanity to let it sit for a couple days and check for phosphate/Ammonia, etc. I have cured upward of 100lbs this way and never had a phosphate measurement on Hanna ULR or ammonia hit. You then should then be good to add to tank.
You can also let the rocks dry out after your bleach cure and aquascape with NYOS cement when they are dry. If you use NYOS cement the rock work has to be dry IME. Simply add your structure to the tank and then add bottled bacteria. With your live rock in the sump this should be no problem at all. Would I try this on a tank full of established SPS coral....probably not. Would this work fine for a tank that is fairly new and doesn't have a ton of established coral.....absolutely. I'm guessing your tank doesn't have a lot of coral, etc. since you will be putting all the live rock to the sump. Just wanted to share my pukani experience with you and save some time for you.
