Hi, I just bought a clownfish two hours ago from petco and recently put him in my tank. When I got him into the tank I noticed that his fins looked a little deteriorated. At petco he was in a larger tank with 2 other clownfish and a cleaner shrimp. I was wondering if someone knew what is wrong with him and what I can do to help. (Also my tank is fully cycled and I used the fish less method)

If you don’t want to return the fish, add API’s melafix. It’ll help treat any bacterial wounds and encourage fin regrowth. Bonus: it’s all natural and won’t hurt inverts or corals.
Cool. Good to know. I'm currently going through the same with a ORA Black Ice Clown from petco. I started kanaplex 48 hours ago. I'm thinking of just returning it at this point. It hasn't eaten since I got it (7 days).

Have you tried soaking your food in water with minced garlic? I've had to do that when one of my clowns stopped eating for awhile.

This is no doubt aggression from getting beat on. Fin rot as below is very distinct. Shame on Petco !!! As long as fish is eating and healthy otherwise, it will repair itself

You can also add aquarium salt to help trigger regrowth. And yes, AQ salt will work in saltwater tanks.
