Its a 36 not 26! Plus about 10 gallon sump! I also already dosed about 5 before I knocked it over so 20 mls total.

have some water almost ready because I was doing a WC in another tank today. PLus I have the pumps all off so its not mixed up to badly through the water! Oops no I did kind of stir it around so it wouldnt be in one spot but its pretty much at the top of tank.

I kind of need this mixed water though for my tank that has had chemi clean in it for a few day! I added 5 expensive coarls today too to the tank that I knocked it into.

Don’t worry about it, folks regularly dose that much
yeah, I was reading someone said he does a cup a day or at a time but he also has 500 gallons and I have 36 plus 10 gallon sump. He also says his corals get ticked off when he does it and just so happens I had 6 expensive coral's delivered today!

I'd do a partial water change if I could. and yes, a few people do aggressively dose that much 1ml/gal sometimes.

excellent thread

we get to log predictions about peroxide in reefing before confirmed, to see if it's predictable

-cycle holds. this won't harm your filter bac they likely appreciate the extra o2 in soln as aerobes. it'll normalize quickly

-any type of lysmata shrimp won't survive

-all fish will survive is my bet

-corals is tough at that degree of use, still likely to be ok. you should for sure re ramp your lighting power/don't leave your lighting on full power to burn corals if the perx was in the tank a long time

Just happened right before post. I am just going to change some water off the top. Its just to risky because I had some expensive coral's delivered today too!

I think you should be fine, I was injecting up to 1 ml per gallon in my tank to spot treat nuisance algea so in my 100 gallon that was up to 100 ml per day. I've also used it as dip for corals (in a separate container) with anywhere from 20-200 ml per liter of saltwater depending on the coral sensitivity.

IMO stirring was probably a good thing as it can burn stuff when its dumped in at a larger concentration but you would see almost immediate effects. When I take a 10 ml syringe and inject on a patch of algea it begins bubbling right away.

I had a similar mishap with ammonia I recommend a fast 10-20% water change

That so true! I havt thought Of that. I dose it to and thats what I was doing when I knocked over the tiny plastic shot glass. I dip zoas in it alot and there fine. I am just a little worried about my new corals that came in today! 2 high end acans 1 godzilla mushroom, toxic bubble bounce shroom 3 bloodshot zoas on one frag post and a good size rainbow chalice. I am also worried about changing the water too since I acclimated them to my water! I keep going back and forth in my mind whether to change it or not!

Do I assume correctly that this was drug store 4% peroxide? If so, your zoas may close up for a day or two and some sensitive SPS may be unhappy. I don't think your fish will be affected. If it is a more concentrated peroxide solution, I'd be concerned and do a water change.

You could do a 20% water change. if it were my tank, I'd wait and see. I routinely used 10 mL of 4% peroxide in my 29g nano for cyano with no ill effects.

I'd also not worry about stirring. That will have diluted the peroxide quickly and allowed it to interact with more of the dissolved organic material and be destroyed.

A smaller water change (10-20%) shouldn't bother them as much as a peroxide overdose, thats just my guess though

This is the article that I was using as a dipping guide.. not sure of its accuracy but looks like most of your new corals are on the higher end of the tolerance to peroxide Peroxide dipping guidelines

I think it 3%. Do you directly dose or just areas of cyano? I think I may have cyano on my new acrylic frag racks.

Its only on them and I keep taking them out and scrubbing off then spray peroxide all over them but it always comes back except in my small nuvo 20 it stopped when coraline took over the racks but for some reason coraline wont grow on them or anything really in this tank!

Also having a hard time keeping up my calcium. Its at 380 now but I keep trying toup it and it only goes uppa little andnot as much as the caculator says it will!

In my reef I wouldn't worry about it too much. Many folks including myself use an oxydator which is putting a continuous dose of h202 into their reef. When I have to attend to problem spot of algae, I direct apply 12% with a pipette to algae to break it up and makes it extra attractive to the clean up crew. I've accidentally dosed more than I wanted like you did in the past and the worst I've seen is some really really upset nems. They got over it though...

I was just espicially worried about the new highends I just got in today so I went a just took a small little bucket. I think it something I saved that had checken nuggets or something in it and has a small plastic handel. I use it for acclimating corals and other things.

Anyway I just scooped off the top of the tank and took out 5 buckets so unless H2o2 is heavier then water it should have still been on the top so I should have got it all. Crazy thing is I had made a batch and was just about to do a WC in another tank and I made a little to much so worked out perfect!

I have lost to many highend corlas mainly zoas so dont want to risk that! I lost 3k worth of high end zoas 2 xs now! I thought it happened the frist time because I got crazy sick and hospitalized and was down for months after I got them snail mowing over ect.. Plus to sick to tend to take much!

This time may have lost some from cyano, diatoms or whatever the hell is growing on my acrylic racks but mainly I think its because they are to dang hard to keep alive! I did buy some bloodshots because I got a great deal yesterday but never buying High-end zoas again!

I think I have about 5 or 6 left and just today I noticed my exosphere are melting and my LSOH arent opening. Probably from the crap on the racks even though I blow them off almost daily! UGGHH

Too much info I know lol! Sorry went off on a rant! lol
