The roll ran out but the thing kept pulling. So the little bit of tape holding the last of the sheet came off and pulled the entire sheet through.
So I had to pull the whole unit out and take bits apart in order to run the new roll back through. BUT the end of the sheet just slips out of the motorized roll. This is so frustrating.

I really don't want to go back to socks.... but if this what I have to deal with every time I need to replace a roll I'm going to scream.

Is there another filter roller brand that isn't such a pain when it comes time to swap out the roll?

Red Sea reefmat, I’ve been very happy with mine

Red Sea Ref Mat 1200 owner here. Very happy with my purchase and worth every penny.
Reading reviews about it and it sounds like a great option! I watched some vids on how to replace the roll and it seems like it's MUCH more straight forward than the ClariSea. I'm definitely going to get the RedSea 500 (not sure I have the space for 1200)

Thanks for the suggestion! :)
