I have been coming accross posts on fb and some old ones here of people mentioning using other wifi powerstrips with hydros, but I have t seen any proof aside from pictures of the strips in people's setups. Not enough elaboration for me to jump on it.... but....

This one I see specifically mentioned frequently, and the wifi strips from hydros that I have, have worked so well, I am strongly considering these for my other tanks for some automation on feeders / able to power lights and co2 on and off.

Anyone have any experience doing this? I just can't justify and xp8 to power a biocube with just some pea puffers in it, and the chain of timers I am using is a little silly to handle the full light cycle and CO2 timing.

I would also appreciate gaining another 8 outlets on my main display that I can turn on and off at a schedule without 2 more 4 port strips cluttering the works.

If I was Mr money I would def get more hydros... but dang this would be sweet to integrate.

The only wifi strips that will work on Hydros are Tuya Protocol and have to have the same layout as the Hydros strips that is 4 AC outlets and the 4 USB outlets that are all tied together, If it looks just like the Hydros strip and is Tuya protocol there is a good chance it is the same one and will work but the Hydros comes with a mounting bracket that the other brands do not come with since that is added by CoralVue to the package. For the little difference in price I just got the Hydros wifi strips. If you need 8 AC outlets on one the XP8 is the only one that will work that fits that and it is a Hydros controller and is connected via the command bus cables to your collective of controllers.

I find it so strange that there are people posting this 8 outlet one saying it works.

It makes complete sense that it wouldn't since it would probably be a different product ID and hydros would only be set to handle 4 of the outlets (or 5 including usb)

I did not know it was tuya, I actually like the stuff I have that is tuya. Popbloom integration when??

Thank you for the answer @n2585772.

The Hydros is setup to control a single outlet the 4 outlet wifi strip and a wifi feeder. So that is the choices for pairing to the Hydros. I have 4 of the power strips and 1 feeder. I never got the single outlet one. I have an XP8 at my tank. I currently have 15 Hydros controllers in my collective. There are 7 at the tank and the rest are at my mixing station in the garage. That is also were the ATO and AWC pumps are at.

Also you are aware that there is a 8 item limit on wifi devices on a controller or collective.
