What's the proper way to set the Low/High Point on an advanced output in the Hydros controller app?

I'm setting up my new Hydros controllers, the XP8 and X3. I'm running the latest firmware, 342. It appears that the firmware has updated the layout of the outputs page in the last few months. The page layout and output options don't match a video SaltwaterAquarium.com shot 3 months ago.

I'm trying to setup a few outputs that are reliant on inputs (Temp & pH) as safe guards. For instance, my Alk doser is a smart doser and I don't need the Hydros to control it (I don't have any automatic testing setup), but I'd like the Hydros to cut off power to the doser if pH goes above 8.4 as a safety feature.

Using this example I created a new Output > Family: "Advanced" > Type: "Generic" > Input Count: "1" > Input 1: "pH Probe" > Input 1pH Low/High Point: >>> here's where I'm not 100% sure what to do next... I'd like for the outlet to be on all the time, unless the pH is 8.4 or higher. So based on what I've seen in previous videos, it would seem intuitive that I set the "Low Point" to 8.39pH and the High Point to 8.4pH. And then set "Active when Input 1" to "pH Low".

It seems to me that set this way the output would always be powered when the pH is below 8.39 and off when the pH is 8.4 or above.

Is this correct?

I'd like to do something similar with my heater and lights. Allowing the devices own controllers to control them but having the Hydros as safety backup if temp gets above 82ºF that it would kill power to both outlets. In those instances I'm guessing it would be the same; "Low Point: 81.9º > High Point: 82º > Active when Input 1: Temp Low".

TIA!

@n2585722 or @JeffB418 you might be able to help me? I posted a thread on the Coralvue forum as well but looks like a Moderator deleted it :thinking-face: .

I have another question using the Triple Water Level Sensor as well.

I'd like to use my Triple Level Water Sensor 1) to notify me when the sensor is dry and 2) to disable my ATO and Doser outputs when the "Safety Sensor" level is reached.

The first was pretty easy, I set that up when I was adding the sensor as an input. The second I can't seem to figure out. Using an "Advanced Output" and the Water level sensor as the input, the only options are "Dry" and "Wet". Is there a way to set it only when the "safety sensor" is tripped? I want the ATO and doser to function as normal when the sensor is dry, and when the sensor is at the the normal level ("Wet") but only cut off when the "safety level" is reached. Can this be done using one sensor? If not, seems that the triple level sensor is pretty useless. TIA!

If it is your first post on the forum there is a delay before it will be posted. The overfull on the triple level sensor is alert only and cannot be used for control. If you are using Hydros for ATO you can set a maximum on time and set the run past max on time to off and then the ATO pump will only run that long before it will turn off. It would require your intervention for it to start again unless the full sensor goes wet. You can also set the maximum off time and you will get an alert if it does not do a top off in a given amount of time or the pump stays on too long when topping off. Otherwise you will need another sensor for overfull.

I was hoping to use the triple level sensor as a back up for the ATO and doser in case of emergency. I have the Tunze Nano which uses it's own float switch and controller. I wanted to use the Hydros sensor as a redundancy rather than control. I guess I could set the maximum on time as the same max on time that the Tunze controller has, that way if it fails then the Hydros would kick in. But that wouldn't solve the wanting to incorporate the same with the doser.

Also, am I setting the Input Low/High Points correctly for the scenario I outlined in my first post above? I'm reading through your build thread now to hopefully learn more about combiners scenarios and advanced setup, there doesn't seem to be many video walkthroughs available. And the Hydros manual on the website is a pretty basic/quick read.

It was there, and then after a while it was gone. And when I go to my profile it's there with a line marked thru it :thinking-face:
