Hydrogen Peroxide for dipping hermit crabs and other crabs?

Has anyone fully dipped their crabs in H202? I'm thinking of doing 1 part H202, 1 part tank water, and dipping the crabs for about a minute.

Would that be safe to do? Also I have some bumblebee snails, does anyone have success stories on that as well?

I shot straight h202 at gorilla crabs before to force them out of cave that it’s lurking in , they come running straight out of the hole

Was hoping to get rid of any potential flukes or parasites hidden on the crabs or snails. I guess H202 is deadly for crabs, have to find another way.

That's not really how it works. If you want, quarantine them for 30 days...

I normally give snails a good rinse in tankwater and give then their shells a scrub with a toothbrush and then another rinse with more tankwater before putting into the tank.

They don't get infected with most fish diseases and I'm normally just trying to stop them carrying algae into the tank.

If you're really concerned you need to quarantine them as you would a fish.

I wouldn't even consider it. Not sure about crabs, but H202 is really hard on mollusks (such as snails). Crabs aren't mollusks, but I would imagine it would be really hard on them too.

If you really want you can carefully paint each hermits individual shell with peroxide without getting anything on the hermit. Rinse with plenty of tankwater.

Did that once with colonial hydroids on a particular hermits shell.

But as a preemptive measure for a whole cleaning crew that's way too much effort for my taste, just QT

That worked? I have not had luck with H2O2 consistently killing colonials

If you want to prevent them bringing in any pathogens, quarantine them in a fishless tank. If you want to painfully kill them, sure, you can dip them in hydrogen peroxide.

Well I scrubbed them off really well and used peroxide after. Don't remember which percentage I used, maybe 12%. Didn't come back.
