Hi I have a IM 40 gallon and I don’t really like the rock structure and thinking of re aquascaping the tank and maybe putting another pice of rock in. I have heard a lot about how to go about re aquascaping but don’t know if my corals and fish will be safe. Any suggestions? Thanks

Use live rock or your own existing rock. I've done it several times with my thanks. Just buy a couple new pieces and exchange out ones that are causing you problems

In my experience , adding to what you have should not cause you issues. However , last year I replaced 90% of my rock, i removed / replaced roughly 1/3 at a time, waiting a couple weeks in between batches. I did have a major algae bloom. The tank had been set up for almost 4 years. Some of the issues were undoubtedly due to stirring up the detritus and other crap in the sand bed. Good luck !
