So Randy, for a fairly new mixed reef (3 months old), where should my N/P sit?

Do you also agree with lowering my dkh by switching salt?

For nearly any reef I recommend 2-10 ppm nitrate and 0.02 to 0.1 ppm phosphate. Values outside that range are also ok, but at lower levels you need to ensure adequate availability of total sources of N and P.

11 dKH is fine, but lower is also fine. I recommend 7-11 dKH,

If you plan to do water changes, it's best to shoot for the Ca and Alk as your fresh Saltwater so it doesn't swing. I found it easy to maintain 9.5 Alk with just Kalkwasser in my ATO, however my Fritz RPM is 8.5 so I cut my dose of Kalk in half. The downside is not as much ph boost at night when I dose ATO. I now mix 2.5gram/gal Kalk and 5gal lasts me 10 days. Once my Ca and Alk is stable, I plan to start allforreef. It's pretty popular around here. I bought the gallon kit of B-Ionic but only ended up needing the Ca and I only dose 3ml a day for my 40gal. I have 20 acro frags in my tank so I'm sure my usage will increase once they decide to take off.
