so I have a bully Regal tang...that has got to go! I have tried 2 different traps, and have caught every fish, except it! I have a gorgeous blue throat male, that is getting bullied so much, that it just now floor surfed. Thank God, I was sitting right there near it, when it happened. I have tried putting the food into the trap, nori, mysis....nothing will get that fish in there. I dont have the patience for a barbless hook, nor do I own any...
is there a way, that anyone knows, how to get this fish to go into the trap? it's breaking off corals as well. so over this!

TIA, for any recommendations :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Egg crate divider to trap it in a smaller area or corner and net it out.

it's super fast, that's also part of the issue, which is why I was trying a trap door trap. I let it sit in the tank, for almost a month, so it's not so "scary", but again, all other fish go in. but that one :thinking-face:

I've heard/read, to let them go a few days without food...then they're more apt to go in...but this seems cruel to the other smaller fish. has anyone had luck with that?

ya I mean to make the tank smaller by basically dividing it into a smaller area so its easier to fish out, at worst case the divider will keep it from being able to reach the other fish if you leave it in till you can catch/trap it.

I drained all but 2” of water from the tank and caught the bully, then pump water back into the tank. It took 30 minutes.
It's 300 gallons. I dont have anything capable of handling that much.

Start feeding out of a a tall glass vase large enough for him to swim into. Feed out of it and when he swims in just stick your hand in the tank and pull it out. Their first instinct is to swim away which is just farther into the vase.
