There are so many different kinds of foods and methods of feeding our tanks that it can get overwhelming. I wonder what you feel has worked for you when feeding your tank! Maybe you do one large feeding daily or a couple of light feedings throughout the day. Share with us how you feed your tank and what types of food you use!

We keep nori sheets on clips as well! It's good for when the fish want to have a snack throughout the day!

Once a week Nori clip.

Auto feeder 3x a day. Switch up pellets/flake/freeze dried.

Frozen at night. Switch up homemade/mysis/angel or sometimes fish roe.

Frozen PE mysis, rods original frozen, formula one and two pellets, sustainable aquatics pellets and dk1 pellets. I mix all those and feed 2-3 times a day. A few times a week I'll add vitachem and selcon to the mix and also reef roids 2-3 times a week. I also toss in pellets by themself several times a day because my fish are so good at begging when I'm looking things over. I've not been feeding nori recently but instead just grab a handful of algae out of my scrubber and toss it in the tank several times a day. My tangs love the algae from the scrubber and I don't have to clean nori crumbs off the counter

Mostly frozen twice a day. I make my own from shrimp, squid, scallops but also use brine mysis and krill. Nori once a day. Thaw it in a glass for a few minutes then use turkey baster to squirt it in so I can hit all parts of the tank and the big boys don't suck it all up.

pellets in the morning
frozen before lights out
small quantities of each since i don’t have many fish let alone very active swimming fish that need larger meals
if i do a third feeding 9/10 times it will go uneaten

My Feeding Strategy for Fish and Corals

Since I work from home, I plan to feed my fish sparingly but multiple times throughout the day. I will ensure that the portions are sufficient to prevent aggression among the fish, but not so large that food remains uneaten. The feeding frequency will be adjusted based on what can be consumed within two to three minutes during each session.

Additionally, I will focus on maintaining a thriving population of pods to provide a natural and continuous food source for the tank.

For my corals, I will incorporate target feeding to ensure they receive the necessary nutrients directly. I’m considering using products from Reef Nutrition and may implement automatic dosing for some of their formulations.

I also have a mini fridge concept in mind for storing and dosing food. Furthermore, I plan to feed algae harvested from the refugium, supplemented with nori to ensure a varied diet for herbivorous fish.

In addition to this, I’ve frequently custom-prepared fresh seafood mixes tailored to each creature's specific dietary needs, especially if a particular species requires something unique to thrive.

It’s not up to me how much I can feed my tank it’s governed by my po4 level
This is probably just me but I weigh out 10g of mysis , 1” of nori and mix 2 phyto mixes with it and this is spread out 4-5 times throughout the day so I don’t get swings in po4 or no3
I check weekly po4 and might half the feed one day if it has crept above my desired level
No3 I check bi-weekly but it’s nailed at 10 with a few ml of vodka a day
