I have a question born of laziness.
I am receiving a new fish. I am recommended to let it acclimate in water of Sg 1.023, which I have stored from my prior acclimation.
The method is to temp acclimate, then move to water of 1.023 for 15 min, the put in the tank. It has been successful for me so far.
However the water I have stored has a kH is 8, while my tank is 9.0-9.5. Will moving the fish from 8 to 9.5ish cause harm to the fish?
I feel like it would, but I also never check kH on the shipped water, and even if I mix up new water or dilute it from tank, the the kH would probably drop. And its only exposed to the kh difference for 15min or so
Any ideas on this? Am I overthinking it?
