All of these bottled bacteria products used to say what was in them, back when they were all the same. Look at some old bottles of such products and you'll see N...somanas and N...bacter plainly listed. That was the industry standard at the time, the state of the art.
Until N...spira came along, of course.
Suddenly nobody wants to say that their bottles contain the old fashioned stuff that doesn't work as well. Switching their formula to the good stuff isn't feasible for them, so they just don't say what they use.
The good stuff still lists the good bacteria, though, and that's what I buy and use. Why wait two months to cycle my tank when I can do it in a week?
