Hello im building a 380 gallon reef tank, this includes the sump volume as well the display tank will be 280 gallons and the sump will be 100 gallons I'm looking for some input from somebody that has experience with this large of a set up, thankyou in advance I live in louisiana the tank will be set up in a garage that is temperature controlled to about 72°F and I plan to keep the water temperature around 78°F, I know sometimes there's several things to take into consideration, if you need more input please feel free to ask im just trying to get an idea on how many gallons of rodi/ato water to keep on standby and around how much saltwater the average person keeps on hand as well! Also I'd like to se other people's tank set ups that are similar to mine and would also like to se your water stations!

thats gonna depend on how much your ac pulls air to cool off the room. Also often the garage door is open will pull water out of the tank... I have a 300 in the front of the, house is set at 79 degrees, with two returns to the unit. I lose about 1/2 gallon give or take a little a day. If I have people over and the patio door keeps getting opened I lose a gallon or a little more. Just installed a RE SEA ato a few weeks ago and my average daily is .47 of a gallon...I have 10 gallon RODI container the RED SEA pulls from. As far as salt, I do nt do many water changes...Maybe 4 a year so I do not store mixed salt water or a use mixing station. I just make 40 gallons of rodi in a big orange garbage can and mix salt in and then use it all when I do a change out...

That's not bad as far as the ac goes that's a good question I don't have it installed yet the unit will probably be a minisplit unit, and for the garage door it probably won't be open often, and when i do need to open it up it'll only be once here and there so that's not a huge concern

As for water storage I typically keep 55G of RODI. I don’t typically mix SW up unless I’m doing a water change because I don’t like storing for long periods. I switch the 55G of RODI over to the mixing barrel with a valve turn and then add the salt and let the pump mix it up.
I have a 2x 55G drums plumbed together with a blue line pump for my mixing station and water change pump. (Pump it anywhere in the house with a 100ft hose)

Hmm I wonder what makes it such a big difference between your tank and 1oceans, they're similar sizes but he only loses about a quarter compared to what evaporates in your tank

I guess it’s not the entire 15 G used each week, probably closer to 10-12, I just refill it weekly and it’s a 15G reservoir.

Location/humidity/type and strength of AC/how much it runs will all affect it.

It’s super humid here in NJ and our AC dries things out a LOT
