Hi everyone!

I purchased an anemone two days ago, and I decided to isolate my clowns with the anemone since they had no idea what to do with it. They have been hosting it on and off the past two days, but I wanted to know how long I should leave them with the anemone before introducing them back to the tank.

Thanks for any tips!

What type of anemones and clowns? Some species of clowns are more likely to show interest in certain anemone species. I'm four months in with my clowns and anemones, and I've had no luck yet.

I have heard of this method but haven't tried it. You can also try to encourage the clowns towards the nem with a net or place a mirror or printed picture of another clown against the glass. The goal of both of these methods is to cause the clowns to feel less secure and seek refuge. None of these methods has worked for me yet, but lots of people have had luck with them.

If your clowns are already showing some interest, that is definitely a start.

If your anemone is not the natural host for your clownfish, once you add both to the tank, there is a possibility that the clownfish could abandon the anemone and use something else as their host, like a powerhead. :confounded-face:
