Just going through quarantine on corals, specifically SPS, and have read about light acclimation. So the question is, how long can something like a green slimer stay at 250 par? So far, when it arrived, I placed it at 250 par, then raised it over two weeks to 270/280 (yes that's very slow). That's the max my a360x will put out at the mounting height and with the color knob in that blue favored position. Question is, will the Green slimer survive on that par 270/280 for a period of 2 months? Or rather, can it stay alive at that par indefinitely (if I make this a frag tank ?).

What about other SPS that are grown at 400 par? How rapidly do I go from 250 to 400 and, more importantly, how long can they survive at 270 par if they are used to 400 par?

I have not always measured par, but I have observed a lot of sticks under various light intensities and if there is enough light to survive, they will. Eventually they will start to grow if there is enough light +, otherwise they just sit and don't do much other than survive.

I think 200 par is more than enough to survive and grow slowly.

based upon my unmeasured par observations.

Green slimer don’t need intense light so 200 good enough.
