I know the cover rocks and even some sand and back glass but how do they get polyps all the way up on my powerheads which are no where near the zoa colonies? Do they release spores that just free float and land somewhere?

That's a possibility. All things considered, I'm kind of impressed to see them growing there.
Kind of why I haven’t cleaned them off I was curious if they would multiply and survive. They are growing on both powerheads.
