I painted the back of my aquarium. And then the paint got dinged when I was going to put the enamel on. I’m so mad. What’s the best paintable waterproof sealant? I bought a spray one and realized quickly that’s a bad idea and I don’t want to get chemicals inside the aquarium.

I've sprayed the back with good results just using some cheap enamel but before setting up the tank. It is very hard to remove though. Later I started using latex with a roller. It will peel easily but thats what I wanted so I could easily remove it if I chose. Touch up is easy as well, just dab the spot. Not water proof I'm sure but I don't really get spills on the back glass. Vinyl wrap would probably be the most durable.

Clear lacquer. Just be sure to cover tank when applying it so no fumes get into the air exchange

So this? Would work? Also I didn’t do that when I painted it lol. I will give it a good rinse and wipe down too since my Mom tried to spray a lacquer on.

So I left the tank outside uncovered so I could do the sealant and a bird pooped in it lol! I realized after I could’ve just left it in the garage after I took it in because the spray enamel didn’t work like I thought it would ugh. Also I thought about this but look how long it takes to dry! YIKES!

I bought 2 sample sizes of black acrylic paint. I did the back of my 210. It takes several coats because wet paint on glass wants to come off. Use a foam roller and assume 4-5 coats.
I tried a brush and it took me more like 8-10 coats lol! Samples are great haha.

Bird poop will help it cycle faster.

How are you painting? I used a small foam roller. You have to wait in between coats otherwise the paint just smears around.
I started with a foam roller and then used a normal paint brush I did let them dry. It was normal house paint though not acrylic or glass paint like I should’ve used!
