No it absolutely won’t kill the live rock you’re 100% right.

But my point is. If everything you’re saying is correct. I’d say You’re not waiting on a tank to cycle. It’s already cycled.

As far as why you’re showing 1ppm ammonia if everything you’re saying is correct. That I’m not sure why and you’re right to not put livestock.

I really hope you are correct and I see my ammonia decrease within the next few days. If i find that it is cycled that would mean that I just need to increase my pH and my alkalinity and I am good to go for my first fish!!

I took down a 22g tank that had been running for a year and a half. Took the rock and sand and put it in a smaller tank along with my bio ceramic media. Filled it up with new water and the tank never missed a beat. I never showed ammonia in the new setup.

I still would follow your plan of slow lol. In light of the 1ppm ammonia you’re showing

@GatorGreg has a point which I must have missed. There is no reason to rush though. I also see a reason to not rush that I missed also. You had clowns that died from possible ich infection you have used that same rock in this new tank. You need to remain fishless for at least 76 days its called fallow. If you do not you risk infecting new fish. Do you now have a qt tank and meds?

I did not use the rock in the tank that had Ick. The rock was only purchased after the fish has died and they were introduced to the larger tank that's currently being cycled. The sick tank is a 10 gallon which i dumped all the water from, cleaned, and will be cycled to use as a qt tank for all new fish as i'm definitely not risking such a breakout again!

I really appreciate everyone's adviced and i am glad i discovered this forum!!
