I shoot in both sports mode and in AV. I always get way more bad pictures than good.
One thing to remember, always keep the lens flat with the tanks glass. Not pressed right up on it or anything. When moving from side to side it will help the camera/lens to focus better with less distortion.

as I'm confident Wayne can certainly get great pics of fish in any tank, he does have a better setup than any normal tank for taking pics of fish.

I am working on a fish pics how to, but as i only have a 12" tall tank, i makes getting pics of my fish nearly impossible. However i should be ordering my new tank this week, so :D:D:D, ill have it up ASAP.

Overall, use higher ISO, higher shutter speed, lower f-stop, and pick a spot and be patient. Once the fish comes back into the frame fire away as many as possible. From the people i talk to, most great fish pics took dozens of horrible ones to get that one great shot.

I realize thats not really helping much, but its all i got right now.

Beakerbob once showed me how to use my camera and shoot good fish pictures. I do remember him hitting lots of buttons, most of them I didn't know they were even on there. After the class I messed with settings and have never taken a good one since.

ISO= 800 or faster
Aperture = 2.8 or lower
AF = Al Servo (focus tracking)
Shutter Speed = 1/250th or faster.

Easy stuff! ;)
