Is this HLLE on my tang? This presented itself over night if so.

Tank is 5 years old

No new additions in a couple years

I feed, nori, spirulina brine, mysis, pellets, rods fish only, rods fish eggs.

Tank parameters are
20 nitrate, .03 phos, 8 alk, 78deg, 35ppt salinity.

Power just went out for a few hours and noticed after I got back with a new generator.

Possibly starting as fish is thin and questions what food you are feeding it?

Not bad but still lacking.
These fish are herbivores and at minimum, you want to feed them:
-Spirulina brine shrimp
- LRS Herbivore diet
- mysis shrimp
- small plankton
- Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
- Hikari Marine cuisine
- Formula 2 flake and frozen
- Hikari veggie marine

Add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-3X per week and on alternating days, garlic extract for stamina and immunity health

What exactly are you concerned about? I am not seeing any HLLE from the picture but it does have a slightly thin body condition.
Think the being thin is due to the picture. In real life he's a fatso. Was concerned with the white line down the middle.

If that fish has been in the dark for a while, let it settle into the light again and have a good look. Yellows get weird in the dark.
Ya know, looking at him now, the area is already yellow instead of solid white.

I agree with others - I do not think this is HLLE. UNLESS it persists - and worsens - day by day. To me - it would be nice to have a more white picture - and more of a picture of the head and lateral line. Otherwise - it looks like adjustment to a new lighting scheme (due to your power outage). Second - IMHO - your food is probably balanced and adequate - and should not be causing/influencing HLLE - others have different opinions. I feed only LRS - and flake food and have 3 tanks - none of which have HLLE. But in any case - the history you gave does not suggest HLLE to me.

HLLE involves the lateral line which is located close to the top fin. That central line appears normal

White line down the middle is normal coloration.
Not with mine. It was the first time I've ever noticed it. He's always a solid yellow. As @Lost in the Sauce mentioned, after the lights were on a bit henwas back to normal.

The lighting was the cause. It's just been a rough night and was worried about the fish. Thought I've been doing everything right. Thanks everyone for the help.

I literally take care of hundreds of yellow tangs, the mid body white band is totally normal. You may not have noticed it before depending on lighting but it is always present.
