This hitchhiker growing on the clam showed up shortly after I obtained the clam.

Over the last 12 months it has grown and spread a little but is bothering no one.

I believe it may be a member of the Palythoa family, but not sure.
Anyone able to give a definitive ID?

^This! They can be invasive so keep an eye on them and more importantly, they contain toxins, handle with care, gloves and no open wounds. Because of where they are I don’t think this will come into play, never boil them it causes toxins to become airborne.
