Hi guys! So, after 20 years of hemming and hawing, I've finally decided to jump in and start my own reef... I've decided to start with a bigger tank since from what I've seen so far, they're more forgiving of mistakes(which I'm sure to make lol) and my daughter wants a tang and they seem to need more room to swim around. Also, with the price of tanks, I don't want to have to change it for a bigger one in a year or 2...

I spent a few days going to different shops and found one that was really nice - clean, friendly and not pushy. All the prices are pretty much the same so I'm gonna go with either a Marine x 110 or a Reef 190.

Since I have till Christmas to decide which, I figured I'd start by actually figuring out what I want in the tank - I definately want lots of coral, but that means making an aquascape that looks nice and fits everything. There's just so much information out there it's hard to take it all in haha. I'm happy to hear any tips or tricks you might have and I'm sure I'll have a ton of (probably stupid) questions along the way!
Exciting! Welcome to Reef2Reef! It can sometimes be overwhelming, but remember: We're all learning! I wouldn't stress too much about the aquascape. I'm sure you'll find it coming together once you get started. It's also a good idea to create some options and post them here. You'll get lots of feedback.

For sure! I'm gonna pick up the rock before the tank comes in so I can float a few ideas around...

Welcome! Thats great you are going bigger. Are you going to do a sump underneath? Highly suggest that for aesthetics and equipment.

Take your time. Be patient. Read a lot of threads here but search your questions first.

Ya, I have a sump underneath. I hate the look of hang-on equipment.

HAVE YOU EVER KEPT A RARE/UNCOMMON FISH, CORAL, OR INVERT? SHOW IT OFF IN THE THREAD!
