Hi All!! Bob here from Central Connecticut. I'm a relative Noob to the hobby, starting about 2 years ago with a 10 gallon desktop AIO. Success was mixed and not a roaring success, but promising enough to A) learn a lot, and B) realize I could make a go of this. About a year in, I realized that much of my problems were small tank related, plus the messy maintenance issues around keeping a salt water tank close to home electronics. I decided to build a larger system and turn my small tank into a QT. That process is almost complete. My new system, 50 gal DT, 25 gal sump is almost done cycling. Sump, controls, and RODI/Salt making and tanks are in basement. Only feed, test, and DT maintenance happen in the living room now. Testing happens as we watch TV at night. Mess happens in basement laundry area with floor drain. Filtration is a Red Sea Roller, Clearwater scrubber, Aqua 40W UV, Sicce DC pump, Simplicity skimmer and Hydros controls. Live rock in sump. Parameters are starting to behave. Just threw in my first life about a week ago(more bacteria, and copepods). Some algae is starting to form, so it looks like the Uglies are beginning. I'm almost ready to introduce swimmers and inverts, but want to be sure chemistry is as dialed in as I can make it at this point. Once I feel I understand all aspects of control of the physical plant and chemistry, I will take the next life step. Looking forward to learning and interacting with all of you!!

What town are you in?Howdy neighbor!
I'm south of middletown, CT.
Welcome.
Thank you!! I am currently puzzling over livestock introduction. Types of fish, order of introducing, etc. also quarantine processes and disciplines. Any insights are appreciated! I’m sure there’s answers on this forum somewhere, but like everything else in this hobby, I’m still learning!!Hi Bob and Welcome! It sounds like you are well on your way! With your pod comment, that means you are really doing the right research and this new tank is going to be a lot less work and much more success! Keep us posted. You fit right in!
