Hi everybody -

I was nice meeting everyone at the February meeting. Figured I should go ahead and join the forum and share my tank.

It's 65 gallons. Mixed reef.
The tank was set up a little under a year ago. The first coral went in this last summer.
I started out with LPS and a few select softies. Then added some hearty SPS. I started with my first acros a few months ago (thanks David!) and I'm already becoming obsessed. :)

This is my first foray into reefing. I'm having a blast - and I'm excited to learn more.

It's lit with a mix of 4 Kessil LEDs. Two a150s - deep ocean blue spectrum. And two tunable a160s on a controller.
Just upgraded from two reef radiance dm-165s.

Looking forward to the next meeting and learning more reefing tricks from everyone.

Here are a few quick pics I took on my cell phone tonight.

You have a very nice looking tank. I love your flame angel. I have been trying to buy one for a few weeks now, and I just can't seem to catch one in stock.

That is a great looking tank! How long have you had the RBTA? Has it always been under the Kessils? Mine stopped bubbling up under my kessils. What percentage are you running them at?

Your tank is looking good! Once you get the SPS bug, it's hard to stop.

Thanks! I've had the RBTA since late November. No, it hasn't always been under Kessils. It was under two reef radiance dm-165s until about a month ago when I made the switch to Kessils. If fact, it was still under the dm-165s when I took that picture. Hence the purple hue - the reef radiance fixtures seem to run more toward the purple/pink spectrum.

It's still bubbling up under the new lights, though. The actinic a150s aren't adjustable - they're on 100 percent, hung about 9 and a half inches above the water line at 45 degree angles. The two a160s are adjustable - like your a350s - but color and intensity are on separate channels. They're also 9 and half inches above the water line. In the picture above they're running 45 percent color balance (0 being full actinic, 100 being full white) and 60 percent intensity.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I've noticed that my anemone bubbles up more after he's been fed. I target feed him twice a week. Between feedings his tips can lose some of their bubbles. But they come back when his stomach is full. :)
