Hey everybody! Very new to the community and hobby. I’m setting up a 32g AIO and have some very basic questions.

1.) Some advice on how to position the return pump nozzles. Should they be angled in a particular direction for better circulation? Should I aim them at the surface, or is there a better spot to maximize water movement?

I do plan on adding a power head into the unit to randomize the flow more in the near future.

2.) Should these lower intakes be completely open?

Thanks for your assistance and can’t wait to dive head first into this

Is this tank a 32 gal fiji cube?

I kept my lower intakes closed out of fear sand would get in them.

From the right picture I Would lower your water level some to be about half an inch from the top

with the return nozzles you want them to be able to create a good surface agitation

I have mine slanted slightly down very subtle and toward the side panels next to the corner

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, its the Fiji 32G cube. Okay that makes sense about the sand, I've had my fully open since setting it up a couple months ago and haven't notice sand yet. Which makes me wonder if I don't have enough agitation yet.

With the return pump, do you know about what speed % you're running. I feel like without a powerhead, I should have it turned up more than I do currently.

I will have to work on a "build" thread, probably should of started with that LOL.

Thanks!

Are you using the pump that comes with the tank?

If so I have my outake turned to about half open half closed give me a moment and I will post a vid of mine. Its only a QT tank for me as I got my waterbox but fiji cube is underrated IMO
