Have minor hair algae in zoa dominated 12 gal nano. Any recommenditions for the best hermit crab.
I've heard Caribbean Red Leg Crabs are good.
Are the hermit crabs in the tank going to keep making the Zoas/Palys close up.
# of Hermits crabs recommended?
Thanks.

Or if you choose to have some snails the Mexican Turbo will make a quick snack of hair algae. JMTC

For hair algae control, I would agree that turbo snails are generally better than the hermit crabs, although I'm personally not a fan of the Mexican variety as they get so large they are like a bulldozer. I personally have had both the blue-leg and the white-leg hermits aid in control of certain hair algaes.

Increase nutrient export and decrease nutrient import and you wil not have any nuisance algae (ie, starve it out).
