Very cool journey (read all of your posts) and can relate. You've come a long way - nice stuff!
Dang that’s quite a commitment! Thanks for reading it all!
I have learned a ton on the journey, still learning things all the time.

Wow, they look great dude!!
Thanks man.

Today was a very productive day tank wise. Tested both tanks
90: 8.0 alk 450 cal 1350 mag 50 nitrate 1 PO4
40: 6.8 alk 430 cal 1380 mag 100 nitrate 1 PO4

Crazy high nutrient levels in both tanks. I did a bunch of target feeding with reef roids two days ago and that spiked me bad.
I took two separate trips to the LFS to get RODI for some big water changes. I also picked up some new big chemipure elite & blue bags to replace the old ones that had been in there far past their lifespan.
Did a 20 gal WC on the 40, popped in the new chemipure bags. Corals are looking better than ever.
I’m mixing currently 30 gals of Tropic Marin pro for the 90. I’ll do a water change on that one tomorrow after work.
On my second trip to the LFS I inquired about these browned out acros in one of the new frag tanks. My friend/LFS owner said the tank is too new and can’t keep testable nutrient levels to keep them alive so he was basically giving them away so they have a chance to live. Some were pretty rough and light brown almost white, I picked a few out though on a complete gamble. They were $5,$5,$15; the $15 is this “massive” tenuis colony that’s brown now but hopefully will color up and be a homewrecker ! ;) The others are a table of some sort and something that looks kinda like a garf bonsai maybe. I’ll take pics of them tomorrow, they look pretty bad, but pest free and super super cheap; so why not give it a try right?

I had a bit of bad luck tonight after my water change. My gyres’ controller wouldn’t power back on after plugging it back in. After hours of troubleshooting and frustration I ended up getting a new controller next day shipped.
I really wanted to get mp40’s but I can’t swing $700 right this second and I don’t want these gyres to be worthless with a non functioning controller.
This seemed like the smartest purchase at this time. Brs had 15% off too so that was nice.
This still cost me almost $200, which is unexpected and annoying. One year warranty on maxspect stuff and that controller lasted me a year and three months, pretty upset with the quality of maxspect right now to be honest. Feeling kind of stupid for giving them more of my money too.

Now that you got new controller, sell the gyre to use towards the purchase of mp40s.
Gyres aren't a bad setup at all, but the mps are better.

Aye aye aye, now I have my replacement I ordered coming tomorrow from brs, and coral vue is being super cool and sending me a out-of-warranty replacement too. I should of waited to order on brs... lol. Now I’ll have two because I know me and the second that package arrives I’m going to hook it up. I don’t like seeing my acros slime :(
