i've seen people give gonis high flow so i kinda aimed the new jebao at one, but uh.. early returns are that goni is not happy. although i think it was really blasting it, the flow was stirring up the sandbed so i had to turn it down. those jebaos are tiny but really move water.

i've tried feeding euphyllia meaty stuff before and they just don't seem to eat it. how long do you give them with flow off to eat it? maybe i just turn flow back on too quickly

Really? My frogspawn and torches are pigs. They eat the same amount as the fish if I let them, then they look like the regret it for a few days. I just imagine them whining at how miserable they are becuase they are too much.

I’m officially cleaning my gyres for the first time. Currently marinading in a 1:5 white vinegar:warm tap water solution in a Lowe’s 5g bucket. Hopefully they are good as new after! I’ve been noticing I was losing flow, it seemed like it was time.

About to soak mine in citric acis, supposedly cleans better than the vinegar that I've been using for years.

@Fudsey and others vouch bleach.

I do 3:1 vinegar soak for 2 hrs, run them for 30 mins, rinse and wipe down x 3, done. Like new. Every 3 months.

Do you have a formula or ratio of citric acid to water? I have leftover citric acid that I’ll never use.

I just did a citric acid cleaning of my gyre and skimmer too

the brs recommendation was 3/4 cup per gallon of RODI

my gyre looks pretty clean, but my skimmer gets exposed to refugium light and man the algae that grew in there does not want to die. i did the citric acid soak for 30 min, then a few hours in a 1:1 vinegar water. algae still hanging out.. might have to borrow some muriatic acid from my parents ;Rage
