Need some help with retracted euphyllia and other corals. Retraction started the 13th. I did a 10% water change on the 12th as normal and noticed low ph. I dosed reef buffer the 13th to try to bring ph up 0.2. Euphyllia is still retracted today. What should I do?

Tank is 40 breeder with about 200 head of euphyllia, some zoas, some mushrooms, and random other things.

Alk is so high it's not normal. What test kit are you using?

Is it just euphyllia retracted or other corals as well?

So chance you scraped and injured an euphyllia when doing a WC? That could cause an infection that spreads across your tank.

No I never had alk swings like this. It’s mainly between 8-10. It’s mostly every coral. Partial open zoas as well. This was with the spin touch digital water test kits done at my LFS and confirmed at home. I haven’t been in the tank to cause any damage.

I would stop adding pH buffering chemicals.
you are better off getting fresh (outside) air to your skimmer air intake to raise pH in the tank without chemicals.

What’s up with your salinity changes daily? I have over 75 torches and 100% your problems will be tied to Alk swings and salinity. Keeping ALk at 7 or 11 won’t matter, it’s stability and keeping it there.
Do you have an ATO to maintain salinity?
