Hi

I am new to salt water and love macro algae. I have had a cycled 30 gallon bio cube for about 4-5 months. I decided to start buying macro algae for my tank that is cycled while I cycle a macro only tank. I put the calerpa in my cycled bio cube and it took off grew very dense and healthy very green. One day I decided to move it around and I pulled up the rock it was glued to and buried in sand with and the next day it turned white and my ph dropped to 7.4 . Sent me rushing to the store for a buffer ti try and save it. I added a carbon sock, did a 25 % water change (5 gal) and only added 1/4 tip buffer . PH now 8.0 .... can you not move calerpa ? Like what the heck ‍♀️

If it turned white, it might have gone sexual. Caulerpa can do that when there's a chance in the tank conditions. When you see them releasing a bunch of white cloudy stuff into the water, time to yank or cut that part out, as it can affect your pH.
