Hi guys I’ve had this flame angel for a week now and went away for the weekend. Before I left he was doing amazing I come back and things took. A terrible turn. My heater was unplugged by my grandmother by accident causing the tank water tempature to plummet and all the fish are discoloured and the flame angels fins are insanely torn up. I’m not sure if this was done by the hermit crabs as it may have entered a state of not moving as no other fish seems super knocked up just a little bit and before this there was 0 aggression in the tank. The flame angel is alive and I isolated him is their anything I can do does he have any chance?! I love this fish a lot

Currently, my suggestion would be to treat with Kanaplex. Sorry this is happening to you, and that the fish medics respond fast.

I’ll try to get some tomorrow I’m unsure if it’s fin rot as all his other fins are untouched only the back and this was in the span of a 2 days I was gone for I live in Canada so antibiotics are insanely hard to get

Due to aggression, this fish may be becoming moribund but keep lights low and keep fish isolated
Kanaplex will do nothing and as long as fish eats and breathes normal, it will heal

How cold did the water get? How long was the fish at the low temp? I’ve wondering if that was the direct cause of the issue or just coincidental?
