Hi all,

Very first post here ! ...

6 weeks ago started my first salt water aquarium (20 gallon) and just last weekend I was finally able to add fish and corals to the tank (after the cycling process ended).

There this one coral that I forgot the name and I was told at the LFS that it grows up. Given that, I just put it on the sand bed and did not glue it to a big life rock (the coral itself came attached to a small piece of life rock).

Can you help me to get the name and let me know if it's ok where it is or if I need to glue to a big life rock.

Thanks,

GSP! aka Green star polyps. They grow like crazy so having it isolated is key to not having it spread out of control. In my experience they grow no matter the light level or flow. so put it where your heart desires, again it will grow and encrust everything it can touch.

yep, i’d honestly put it up against the back wall or a single rock. mine is growing like wildfire on the back which looks pretty cool, just make sure to get your tweezers ready to do frequent hedging.
