I just upgraded my return pump as well with the aquatop mwp-500, the fish store sold me a 1/2" felible tubing and it seems to small. I was wondering what you guys did, also does anyone have a bulkhead setup?

I know this is an older post but I'll take a chance. Did the IM pump work with the tubing provided with the aquatop, or did you have to re plumb it?Im late on this, but the Innovative Marine 534gph pump works excellent. I run mine on the second setting and it is more than enough. It also fits in the small chamber no problem.

I am currently looking at getting a new return pump for my Aquatop Recife 40 gallon cube. What is currently on the market? I looked up the innovative marine 534 and couldn't find it on amazon.
Thank you so much for digging this back up for me! I've been wanting to replace the stock pump for a while now. That's a great photo too. This is exactly what I needed. It seemed simple enough, but I'm just new enough to this to ask someone with experience. The devil is in the details with stuff like this.Had to look through my photos to remember. I didn't use the hard plastic return tube from the pump to the outflow, it wouldn't work. I used the barbed fitting that comes with the Innovative pump for a 1/2 inch flexible silicone hose from Lowe's and went from the pump to the flow piece where the water flows back into the tank. Attaching a picture for you to see. At the top it is a 90 degree elbow that connects to the hose and the flow port. I used zip ties to keep the attached.

I hope you're not in the way of the Hurricane that's out there now!
