My neon dottyback gets along with my cardinal, my trigger pistol shrimp(surprisingly), and my watchman. However anything else i put in my tank. He kills immediately. Fire shrimp killed, 6 line dead, snails he kills new ones leaves ones that been in there alone. Now he murdered my coral beauty in less than 24 hrs. I know my dottyback killed the beauty. I watched ot happen helplessly. I tried everything to save it from a gruesome death. My question is how do i stop him from being a dick? I tried redoing all the live rock, i tried introducing a new creature in the middle of the night. The only thing i havent tried to do successfully is trap the dottyback. Hes impossible to catch, hes so fast and smart. What do i do?

Most dottybacks can be butt heads. Might have been better if you put him in last to let the other fish settle before he gets to run the tank. Sometimes, they just don't adjust well with new additions.

Try adding the additions at night with your light off. That has worked for me in the past.

Ive heard people have had success by removing an aggresive fish (maybe sump it if you have a sump). Add your new fish then add the aggressive fish after the new fish gets settled!

Maybe an acclimation box would help. Could leave the new fish in box until the neon gets bored. Only other thing is to get the neon out and keep in separate tank or acclimation box until done adding other fish then put him back in. I have one-it’s like trying to catch an eel!
