It started small dots, and now it’s growing. It is everywhere on rocks. Even spread. Not just rocks, but frags, powerheads, glass (which is always wiped down). It doesn’t feel grainy more like powdery and brushes off into dust easily.
Stats:
200g
Skimmer, Refugium, filter socks
Alk -8.5-9.0
Calc - 420-450
Mag - 1380-1420
Phos: recently bottomed out, was 0.12 or less
Nitrate: 5-15
But both are near zero or zero for 1 week now. Near meant 2-3 nitrates or 0 sometimes. Same for phos. Latest test was yesterday and both 0.
Have about 15 fish, 1 cube a day and 2 thumb sizes nori sheets daily for 2 tangs and foxface.
I can’t tell if it’s brown hair algae forming or diatoms or something else. Tank is 5 months old.
Corals are all thriving, even a couple of SPS as they are encrusting over rock. Concern is that they won’t after this grows around them.
Advice is appreciated.
