Im not sure what happened to your shrimp, 3hrs seems excessive. Ive never aclimated a shrimp longer than an hour and have never lost one.

Are you trying to kill aptasia? I wouldnt go cbb unless you know it is eating just my oppinion. try those nudibranchs IMO. as far as whats killing your shrimp, how big is the engineer gobby? I knwo they are reefsafe and all that but they can get pretty big and those peppermint shrimp could look like a tasty snack.

usually with those they try and eat the aptasia and get a little over there head and try and eat the bigger ones who sting them to death. i had eight in my 90g to get rid of the aptasia and the eight did a very good job except for one piece, well long story short, no more peppermint shrimp, lol. It was either that or the too long of an acclimation. Usually i put them in the tank or sump in the bag to temp acclimate then slow to fast drip them for a half an hour, and have not lost one yet.

hope this helps. joe

the engineer gobby is about 8 inchs long he's a good sized one. i thought the same thang at first that it might be him. their is not any one around here that has the nudibranchs tho and it would cost an arm and leg to get the shiped to me. i have not had any fish come up missing that i know of. but i have found out that the red brittle star eats snails it all the snails that was in my
refugium. and as for the copperbanded butterfly has any one had any good luck with these fish i prob going to start a new thread on them and see what every on has to say. im done with shrimp tho i fill bad that they die every time i buy some.
