I came to the basement and messed around with my frag, and noticed a jolt when I stuck my hand in the tank. After narrowing down by unplugging each device that is in the tank, the jolt is coming from the two XR15s above the tank. Before you ask, yes I have a grounding probe.

I'm sitting here scratching my head as to why or how it could be coming from my radions. They are mounted with the hanging kit, and there are no wires touching or near the tank... but low and behold every time I plug either one, or both, the shock comes back. I also tried plugging them into a different surge protector and it persists.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Appreciate the bump. It's the strangest thing.. im not sure if they are emitting EMR or something but even if they aren't plugged into the radions (just plugged into power), it shocks the tank.. i've tried two different power circuits to the same result

Yeah this makes me really need to go out and get a grounding probe.

I've tried two different circuits to the same result though. Can power supplies radiate electricity?
The power supplies could leak electricity yes. Or the fault could be with the box and the house wiring. An electrician will be able to tell you.

Could be bad surge protector have you tried plugging them directly in a wall socket?

And to understand right, this is happening from 2 radions, each with their own power supply, and both have this effect on the tank?

My lights are plugged in a non grounded plug (100 year old house). They are XR15s and if I touch the water and the light (like with a metal scraper or whatever) I get a super strong zap. I’m going to put a grounded outlet in this weekend but yes it’s an issue and not sure why only the lights zap me.
