Water, few fish in tank. Heater, light sump in line, power head. ... 2 softies...oh and sand.

yes bare bones here. recovering from a explosion of Majano anemone (pg1 of thread)

lovely reef.

Anyhow, this morning I thought I should add some rock then slowly introduce some zoa,
CYPHASTREA, FAVIA, CHALICE etc.

Wallet says otherwise.

So, the few fish & Softies I have will have to do. That rock structure I had on page 1 of this thread has been drying out in the sun for 4 month now. Still Im almost afraid to add it back to the tank after a proper quarantine . At this point sand and fish will do. (I have been enjoying fish a lot more lately.)

But, I do miss corral!

Photos here is so I can remember the history of this tanks' journey into a thriving mixed reef tank (my goal). Wish me Luck!

Ok so you are doing a partial reboot. I'm pretty sure those rocks sitting in 100 degree sun have baked off the bad guys. So you are probably fine to start rebuilding your rockscape. Yes, some easy inexpensive corals would be the next move if your parameters are good and you have a decent light and flow for the tank.

Pisces has a 20% off sale on fish tomorrow and Monday and their frag tanks looked really good today to.

Looking to reset my 55 Gallon.

55-60 with pine wood stand

Sump and skimmer Eshopps

Current USA loop light & power flow combo. Just light is online currently . I Also have a Radion not on tank---yet.

2 vor tech Marine 40s

Tank cycling. Just about ready for fish and Coral sometime this week.

Yes no Aquascape. Had a Majano anemone that over took the previous build because I'm a LARK....Lol. All of my rock is drying out under the sun now. So, I'm thinking of Fish only with softies this time around. However, I think that over time wanting to add more coral will get the better of me. I'll be adding some coral here and there because I love going to local coral reef shows and shopping at my LFS.

The second tank you see in my photos will be set up in a different room. Plan there will be to build out a frag tank with no skimmer or sump. It is another 60gl with DIY plywood build stand. The plan there is to fill up the tank half way so I can lean over the top standing lookin g down.

All the equipment I have acquired over the many years keeping and enjoying wet boxes . So, to keep cost down, I'll use what I have and K.I.S.S. my tank daily.

These tanks will be fun. Enjoying the hobby after 30+ years. No tank keeping over 100gl (and that one was freshwater). LET's GO!

Cord management is an issue. Had the empty water container keeping the electronics off the floor.

Goose neck waterproof full spectrum light for algae scrubber/ mangroves
IMG_5400.jpeg
Current USA loop light & power flow combo that I never used to grow coral. Might go with my old T5s

Sunlight shoots right through in the morning waking up the tank daily.
Love it!

Currently all rock is taking a freshwater bath. Next will be peroxide. Then another sun dry out before restarting cycle in the tubs over again.
Welcome! I’m new as well! I live down the road in Azusa
