Hello reefers

just my observation in my tank..earlier I used to feed once a day and I have only skimmer as export method.since last one month I am doing 5-6 times feeding per day and added Paxbellum arid as chaeto resctor.Seeing crazy PE and happy SPS I ever seen.

My parameters are more or less same. Not sure what’s behind it but I am loving it .

I have been heavy import and export for a decade or two and my PE is just OK. Too many fish and probably some are nippers. I don't care since they still grow like crazy. It is still a great way to run a tank and has always worked.

The reason for the growth and health is simple, more nitrogen to get in ammonia and more kinds of phosphate and phosphorous also for the corals. Residual nitrate and phosphate (one kind of a test kit) are fools gold whereas ammonia/ammonium and fish waste is the key. Keep high throughput and residual values low... always been a good plan.

I throw away 3-5 gallons of chaeto a month. To keep it working, it needs pruned and you need to change water or otherwise get iron into the system. Everybody kicks butt with chaeto for a while, but once it uses up all of the traces, it can stall out. It can also stall out if you let it get too compact and stuff.

Yup, jda said it best. Only thing I'll add is heavily feeding leads to algae. Do I have more than I'd like? Of course. Do some corals never make it because algae stops them? Sure. But most grow over it and tangs and snails keep the bigger stuff clear. And I have every algae known to man (thanks lfs and local trades). But three years in I have more success than not and I'll keep feeding heavy as it works for me and the algae will slowly have nowhere to grow as the rocks are all covered with sps.

Heavy in heavy out in my 120. I only feed the fish 8-10 cubes a day.
This is my tank today in 4 frames.
Very little algae in the system at 29 months.
Oversize skimmer 7" filter sock and soon to be eliminated media reactor.
One month since remote 30 gal fuge came online.
Already using half the po4 reducing compounds. Po4 reducing compounds used to be replaced every 4 days to keep below .1.
Now at 2 weeks with media and po4 is 0.05 with fuge online.
