I have not bought an RO/DI machine yet so last weekend I bought 10 gallons of fresh water and it tested at 34 TDS. Everyone was very friendly and this weekend is customer appreciation day but I would grab my water elsewhere.

We got saltwater from there one time that was unsafely low salinity. They toom it back and replaced it but wouldn't own it. Havent bought water from them since.

hyposalinity is often used in large commercial systems as a ich/disease preventative measure. its not uncommon. its one of the reasons that we should always acclimate our fish/corals.

This was water purchased as saltwater to use in a reef. They do run their fish systems lower than typical norm for that effect but it is far from being considered hypo by any means.

Agreed that the 1.18 that I was referring to is not a hypo treatment level.. but the lower salinity levels are very common when purchasing premixed water from large commercial operations.. When I purchased premixed water years ago I always had some salt mix on hand to get levels to where I wanted them.
as far as extremely low one store that I used had two containers of premixed water one for customers and one for the display tanks/quarantine. occasionally someone, usually new, would get the water out of the wrong holding tank and I would get a bad batch..
that being said I went to mixing my own very quickly to avoid that particular issue.
