Too intense or the spectrum?
Probably the intensity. I would have to find articles on why people think, it's either blue or white spectrum that causes the tumors. They are harmless to the coral, it's all speculation. And noops par levels are rather insane. I do need to run a test and see where I am at for 1 year and a half reading. Just to see if they are holding their intensity.

Blue. Intense blue is what causes mushrooms and LPS to "bounce" from what I've been able to find.

JF says white lights cause coral to fade in color... maybe I'll remove white lights and see what happens.
He made a pretty good argument, something I want to try out.

Its what the all the big dogs say, and your down to earth reefers saying its to push led sales. But, you can get a blue spectrum from t5 as well. Sps, on the other hand get full spectrum sunlight. Theres times when they are out of the ocean exsposed to air for 10's of minutes. Some zoas are shallow water.

It's not so cut and dry... JF is not going to be 100% honest.

No I believe that, and his corals listed for sale are definitely saturated and edited, but he did place an interesting point.

I run only 10% white and 100% blues with red at 20% and green at 35% because it makes things look better than higher white and no white. My Acros don't really POP like my LPS and other SPS but they're starting to show more and better color than when I first added them to the tank.

Dialing in lights is one of the hardest things. It comes down to water quality and minerals. Sadly, there an entire ordeal on moonshiners and it requires icp test results to see if you need more or less... Talk about another headache to achieve max aesthetic.

This is going to haunt me. One day, when I am not looking... The topic will pop up out of no where now.
