This isn’t my first experience with this. This is 70 pounds. I have another 80 and 250 pounds of sand coming from the great ladies of @LiverockRocks. Man, I cannot tell you how great they are to work with. Probably some of the best communicators I have worked with during my build. In the first video below, I know it’s not an aiptasia, but I’m not sure if it is similar in nature. The life on these is insane. Far better than I have seen in the past. Please be warned I am no James Cameron. I’m doing visual inspections right now. For size reference my sump is 72”x23” and I have a couple kessils over my sump just for a little light exposure.

I put my fresh rock in a bare bottom for a few days..
Ive also placed it over water (in a high humidity covered state)
both methods have revealed some nasties…
BTW, Im hardly paranoid over pest, but caution is cheap

I agree, I’m not super concerned at this point. I’ve ordered rock in the past and simply added it to my system, so, at this point, I already have the witches brew in my systems. I just need more of the secret sauce for my new display that I am consolidating down to. My new sump is bigger than my larger display that I broke down to make room for this project. So, it’s acting like an AIO at the moment. I’d like to ID the anemone in the video. Other than that, it’s game on.

This was one of my favorite parts about getting live rock for our pico tank. Was seeing all the different creatures that came on it!

Hiya,

Nice working with you and appreciate your flexibility as we rebuild & restock post hurricane damage.

There are many identified and unidentified critters living on the farm. Check out our ever growing hitchhikers category - TBS Hikers.

The tentacles could be hidden cup corals, a sponge nem or lightbulb nem.
There was an amazing lightbulb in stock when your partial order shipped, maybe you got it. Very pale yellow, size of quarter retracted and 5” extended.

Please email us critter photos for identification.

Rock on.

Hi, the one you looking at at the moment seems to be a barnacles and ball anemones, they really good additions to have in a reef tank.
