You can get AI blades, or supplimental blue/uv light bars from aliexpress for cheap.

I do not think you need another xr30, unless you want more whites, and u end up getting a PRO and not a Blue.

Which light bars and how would you mount them?

GLR rock and sand has been cycling for a week. Had to remove all bivalves and sponges - the tank is kind of a poisonous ammonia soup with levels above what Hanna (2.5ppm) and API (8ppm)can measure. Hopefully the critters, both big and small survive this.

Was the GLR shipped in water or wrapped in newspaper?
Both kind of. The sand was in water, the rock wrapped in wet paper, and in partially filled bags - very moist environment. Btw, I did have that spike today. A few hours later and my ammonia is almost gone.

I will be getting a IM 200 ext but first I have to find the right house for the tank. I am going through open houses with my tape measure checking to see how it would work.

That‘s the right way to do it. First tank then house :)
I wanted to get the 200 too but there is only loadbearing wall and a big steel beam under one spot on the first floor, and that only fits 5ft. The basement underneath is finished so too complicated to make structural changes.
Good luck with the house hunt!

Transfered in my QT fish (foxface, sailfin, wrasse, hippo) . And all my corals, mostly acros and montis. The QT fish formed a school and spend the day sticking together. Very cute - I hope things remain as peaceful.

Mantis hunt continues to be fruitless. I may just let him be, I can spare the occasional snail. Maybe not kill my $25 tuxedo urchins?
Trying to figure out AWC this weekend. I have 2 versa pumps, I could do a solution that drains and fills simultaneously from different sump sections, maybe 3 gallons total daily over 24 hours. The ATO would never know, except there wouldnt be any failsaves.
Another way would be to use my hydros awc regime, but would have to buy different pumps, an XP8 and hydros compatible sensors.
Can‘t decide.

AWC is nice as I have tossed it around in the past. I will be doing minimal WC on mine, 2.5%. That equates to 4g's a month. I was only doing 10% a month on my last 4 systems with good results.
I have gone 18 months without on my 120 with no issues.

Ah very different. I want to do 1.5% DAILY which is about 3 gallons. I am currently doing a weekly manual wc of 20%.
