I need help identifying a growth on my new regal. I received this regal a few weeks ago from Marine Collectors. About a wk after I noticed this growth on the lower right gill cover/plate. I contacted Marine Collector and they said it might be lympho and not to worry about it. Any idea what it could be?

My gosh this angel can move quick. While it may be an access, it can also be damage from netting.
Fish appears to be breathing normal. Is it eating ? If so, keep an eye on it as it should subside. If not, you will first step want to set up a quarantine tank . A QT can be as simple as a starter kit from Walmart which has most of the essentials needed

Nice fish.

+1 in thinking this is some type of injury. Did it grow gradually over time, or just show up?

It looks too smooth and is in an unlikely location for Lymphocystis.

I noticed it after the first week. It showed up suddenly. It’s been about 4 weeks now and seems to not be improving.

I am feeding it tdo chroma pellets, reef frenzy and brine shrimp.
I like the first two. But the brine shrimp hopefully is gut loaded with HUFA or spirulina. Even so, I wouldn't use it too often. Brine shrimp itself is medium-low on the nutrition scale.

Reef Frenzy is a great choice. You may want to mix things up a bit by providing freeze-dried ocean plankton (of the right size). Then you can soak the plankton with a vitamin such as one of these:
Vita-Chem Marine
Zoe
S.E.L.C.O. Boost

By tdo chroma, I assume you mean TDO Chroma Boost. This is a very good food. Be sure to refrigerate it after opening it.

Well, that does sound more like an injury, but not resolving after 4 weeks is a bit disconcerting. It doesn’t look like an infection though.

Where do you get the freeze dried ocean plankton?
One source (believe it or not) is from Amazon:

Hikari Bio-Pure Freeze Ocean Plankton for Pets

Another is freeze-dried krill from Brine Shrimp Direct.

Chewy.com carries both the following:
Omega One freeze-dried Pacific Plankton
San Francisco Brand freeze-dried plankton.

Hope this helps.

I will share that I recently received an order from Elliot that was delayed in shipping. In a concern for their well being I got them in the DT as quickly as possible (Shame on me). Both fish perished, flukes showed up in my tank and I have lost a King angel and blue line over the past two days .
Never again will I purchase from MC…..

Just an update: the issue with the gill plate is resolved. Seems like it was an injury. The regal is doing great and eating everything I throw in the tank.
