Hi everybody,
I’m setting up my new 75G tank.
I have inserted the sand, I chose the Carib Sea Ocean Direct Oolite, I like it very much, however the grains are very thin and they move everywhere with the flow of the pumps. Also when the sand goes on the corals it remains on them and it is difficult to be cleaned.
How do I solve this?
Waiting until the sand compacts?
Adding other sand with bigger grains? How big?
Is mixing different type of sands harmful?
Thanks for your help!

Mixing sands looks like trash. I did it and have a peppered look. Not ideal. Probably remove all the sand and put new substrate in. Of course you probably want to cycle it first in your sump.
