Good morning.
I was reading the forum this morning. Why is it on a RC car forum when someone asks a question like how do I tune the engine in my truck there is a consensus in the answers.
On a Marine keeping forum there never is. A bunch of people do the same thing with completely different results. That is not how the universe usually works.

Makes no sense to me.

Time to make the coffee.

Good morning,
I question biology every day, my new boss questions biology in a slightly different way. Doing task one will help with this problem, but may elevate stress and cause another problem. So the real solution to fixing the problem is scrapping the old system and complete redesign and rebuild....hoping by doing that we don't create a new set of potential problems.

It has been my experience that bosses are hired to manage problems. So the more problems there are the safer and more valuable their job is.

I was a technician for a utility. Our managers where graded and their bonuses depended on how many trouble tickets were cleared. So managers with lazy stupid techs that never fixed anything made the most money because their areas where always burning down.

Managers with good techs who's areas didn't utterly fail when weather came through got moved or fired.

Once you understand how the world works it's kind of ugly.

Good morning!! This morning I replaced my sister's iPhone screen. I was shocked how inexpensive ($15) and easy it was-- maybe 15 minutes, max. Just unscrew some things, unplug, add a new gasket, replug, re-screw. Heck, it cheaper than some screen protectors!

Interesting insight. Considering I work for a state entity which is unionized, you pretty much have to threaten someone, steal equipment, etc to be relieved of duty. There is "shovel leaning" in certain offices, depending on the manager of course. My shovel needs to be digging most of the time..even when the hole is constantly being filled.

If we do a great efficient job....we seem to get more work on our plate which is good, but not when everyone is wanting extended time off and/or sick at home with the kids.

Morning everyone! BRRR! 52 degrees waking up this morning. Had to kick on the heat! Nothing like that smell of turning on the heat for the first time of the season.

I turned mine on a couple weeks ago....even bumped it the other day from 70 to 72 to heat up the bathroom....my wife has made me soft.

This is the story I used to tell. I was not popular at work.

You work at a plant making cars. The company decides to grade the plants performance on how many lug nuts are screwed on every day.

Plant A builds cars that can be sold of high quality and makes 100 cars a day.
They screw on lug nuts and move the cars out. 4 wheels with 5 lug nuts on 100 cars is 2000 lug nuts every day.

Plant B builds 150 crappy cars of low quality that are poorly assembled and have frequent need of warranty issues.
Plant B screws on 3000 lug nuts every day so It is rated higher than Plant A and it's manager gets a raise.

The manager at Plant A is jealous. He speeds up the assembly line and his plant makes 180 very poor quality cars many with serious issues right out of the plant but they have screwed on 3600 lug nuts.
The Manager at Plant A is handsomely rewarded and buys a new mansion.

The manager at plant B knowing his plant cant make cars any faster ponders this.
He puts 10 cars up on blocks and has men screw lug nuts on and off these 10 cars all day. No cars are made at all.
They screw on 10000 lug nuts. Screwing them off is not counted.
The company shuts down plant A for it's poor production numbers and the manager at Plant B is made CEO of the company for his genius.

The company fails and no one understands why. Millions of lug nuts are being screwed.
