I have been busy with an Earnest "I cant walk, it hurts" event.
After 2 maddening days with doctoring, x-rays and an ambulance in the middle of the night I bought a walker and got him out of bed an into a hot shower. He is now downstairs and getting around about as good as ever.

Good morning. I was called into a 2-hour training session today. After 40+ years, I'm tired of training! You can't teach this old dog new tricks anyway, especially since this old dog already has one foot out the door! After that, it's cleaning, groceries, and welcoming the Nashville invasion tomorrow! Enjoy your Thursday. :)

best thing about being a hired gun and not working direct for the company anymore...
don't have to take their stupid training/tests
no more reviews where my direct supervisor tells me how great i am and then upper management downgrades me to "C" average so they can justify not compensating my greatness.

My RODI got away from me and went to crap. So I rebuilt it twice as big. 2 sed filters in parallel, 2 carbon blocks, 2 new membranes and 2 new 20 inch mixed bed DI cannisters. I added a booster pump controlled by Hydros. I drained all the vats and am refilling them. 0TDS water is coming out. 26 TDS water was coming out of the membranes before the fix after you ran it for a while.

Everyone is emo here today. We took Earnest and visited an assisted living facility. He is going there for a while soon because of my knee replacement coming 1 November. Finding a room in one of these places is based on luck and we got some. There is a nice one 2 miles from our house with a room. We had to decide like right now so we did. He may like it if he let's himself. A big place with nice residents. He keeps calling it a nursing home which it isn't. He said what difference does it make what it's called so I told him I will tell people he went to jail. It's not like we have a choice. No backup has appeared for us, just lots of talk. I had to wash him at 1:30am because things happen. Hopefully the knee goes well and I will be back by the middle of January. I hope his 2 sons get massive outbreaks of ingrown hairs all over their bodies.

The best part of the training was 1) I was on mute and wasn't a participant and 2) I didn't have to take a test, so I didn't have a listen. Meanwhile, it was an EXTREMELY productive 2 hours of cleaning up the fish room, messing with the tanks, running the RO/DI unit and filling the ATO reservoir, dusting the office, etc. Win-win! :D The presenter sounded like the teacher from Charlie Brown...wah, wah, woh, woh, wah.

good morning.
mid 80's earlier in the week and the hunting field was filled with geeses.
don't like plucking birds in those temps.
i waited for later in the week (yesterday and today) for lower temps (40's).
no geeses. :face-with-rolling-eyes:

busy weekend.
much to do before duck season. (two weeks)
new boat blind to complete.
camo paint touchup on the boat.
new motorized decoy rig to make.

oh.... and water changes on the 150 and the tub.

Good morning. Yesterday I had the screen top off the 34 gallon reef tank doing some maintenance. This morning while feeding my purple firefish was not coming out to eat. Found him on the floor beside the tank. RIP little guy. :disappointed-face:
Got a doggie client bringing their two Golden Noodles later today for the weekend. They are regulars here so I know what to expect with them. Have a great Friday everyone.

Wow, what a whirlwind! No time for good morning with a 3-year-old and 1-year-old running wild and free. Mom and dad had a surprise party to attend yesterday evening, and Grammie and Papa had to deal with trying to get little kids to eat dinner and then putting them to bed. Mom and dad tried to leave discretely, but about 30 minutes later, the baby noticed they were gone and started sobbing her little eyes out. Grammie came to the rescue and plopped her in front of the 90. Thank goodness, it was also feeding time so the fish/shrimp were swarming the glass like they hadn't eaten in a year. Crisis averted. The rest of the night was uneventful. Kids left this morning. The old people are tired! We had a great time.

Son also managed to finally change out my return pump, which was 9 years old. I figured I was on borrowed time! At least I have the old one to use as an emergency backup if needed. It needs a good cleaning...maybe next weekend. :grimacing-face: Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! :)
