Good morning. Yesterday I unsuccessfully tried for like an hour to open my membrane cartridges on my rodi.
I normally put the body of the thing in a vise and use a big channelock or wrench on it. An oil filter wrench also works but may not be strong enough. Put Vaseline on it when you put it back together.

Good Morning!i went to Murfreesboro Tn. for a couple of days. Passing thru Florence Ky i saw they had changed the name of their minor league baseball team. It used to be the Florence Freedoms.. Now they are the Florence Y'alls!
That is a great name, but it still doesn’t touch the names for the past minor league hockey teams from Macon, GA!

Don’t have a vice. I keep telling my husband we need one, but even if we got one there is no work bench to r anyplace to attach it. I do have some large pipe wrenches and channel locks so maybe I will try those

I hate changing those RO/DI membranes! I try to wait until one of our boys is around to work that wrench thingie. I managed to change them by myself the last time. I have no idea how I did it...I was probably twisted up like a pretzel, though.

For the people who haven't been to tool school yet
These are Channel locks
1651250628658.jpeg
These are pliers that have parallel jaws with an adjustable width between them, Channel Lock is actually a brand name
that is used for them. They are also called water pump pliers , slip joint pliers and tongue in groove pliers.

The oil filter wrench is a pair of these. Actually a large set of pliers also.

You don't have a vise!!!!!. I have a lot of vises, the metal ones also. :anguished-face:

Yes two of those wrenches WVNed pictured. If you don't have those, borrow or steal them. You need a vise for many things, I have 3 of them and use at least one almost every day. I thought everyone did. :D

Tell your husband to go out and get one but first build a workbench.

He doesn't need that picture of the Supermodel on the door but it helps.
Tell him not to go to Harbor Freight because everything in there is from China and we don't want any of that in our workshop.

Here is my old one from my last house. I practically live on my workbench and couldn't live 8 minutes without it. I hardly remember what the rest of my house looks like.

Good morning. The ducks are back! We have lived in this house for almost 10 years now and every spring this pair of ducks come back. They hang out on our pool cover. Some days there is more water on the cover and then they swim around for quite awhile. We see them in our yard on and off all summer. (Actually I don’t know if it’s the same pair every year, how long do these ducks live anyway?)
