Here few pictures of ywg and tiger pistol shrimp.they keep to themselves in left side of tank and always got 2 entrances to their tunnel system, one being a rock i hollowed out for them and few more that they make and then barricade up and make another.the pistol shrimp always working and goby always look out,he very protective of his buddy and wont let any fish near them,he only really lets the 2 cleaner shrimp near and always lets the cleaner shrimps give him little massage ^_^
He chases off the hermit crabs and just stares and occasional goes for the nas snails.
All in all they very good fun and interesting to watch and that half the tank, the sand always getting turned and aerated.
Very happy i got them.

A tiger pistol and goby combo in a 24g tank will move plenty of sand around. No need for a sand sifting fish.

The jester doesn’t mess with the pistol at all?
My captive bred court jester is passive in a nobody is home kind of way. It’s a weird, cool little fish that occasionally picks at the sand and completely ignores everything around it.

Just watched video of your tank and all i can say is wow thats lovely colourful well packed tank with corals and i see still adding some little frags to fill in the little space you have.
I only started adding corals 1 month ago but if my tank ends up looking half as nice as yours i be more than happy ,BRAVO ^_^

I’ll probably still add one just to have something else moving besides the clowns!

Mine reminds me of a prisoner out in the yard just casually dropping pocketfuls of crumbled wall.

I would also recommend a tailspot blenny. Mine “walks” around the rocks all day. Although he doesn’t seem to pick at them much, but he is a great hide-n-seek player. My YWG doesn’t move much sand, at least not compared to my pistol. That dude is like 10 second Tom with his sand piles!

I have two goby + shrimp pairs. In one system I have a tiger pistol with a YWG and in another I have a Randall's goby with a candy cane pistol. I far prefer the candy cane and Randall's though for a number of reasons. They don't cover my corals with sand or kick up sandstorms, and don't drastically rearrange my sandbed to the point rockwork resting on the sandbed would topple. On top of this I also see them much more since they have no fear of me, the YWG is much quicker to bolt into its burrow when I go near the tank. Lastly the tiger pistol likes to kill my hermit crabs from time to time, which I'm not a huge fan of.

I love the relationship between the goby and pistol shrimp but all the gobies I’ve had constantly dump sand all over my corals, I won’t have another in my tanks lol

Try a rose banded high fin goby with a candy cane pistol, most likely won't be a problem.

Smaller gobies and candy cane pistol won’t cover corals much from my exp. I prefer tiger pistol shrimps because they move the sand a lot.

Tiger pistol shrimps will eventually kill off most smaller snails and hermit crabs. I resupply the shrimp with new food (snails and hermit crabs) every 6 - 12 months.

Yep, I've had him over a year and I'm not out of clean up crew but hermits definitely disappear on me from time to time. I can't say I've noticed any cerith losses to my tiger pistol.
